Ideas Behind the Design of Ô Bun Cha

Following the success of the Ô Bun Cha restaurant design project, KenDesign was once again trusted by the investor for another venture: the design of Ô Bun Cha restaurant located at 46 Nguyễn Hữu Huân, Hoàn Kiếm. The investor aimed to extend the traditional and classic ambiance to a wider range of customers. Understanding this desire, KenDesign crafted a space that harmoniously blends the rustic charm of tradition with captivating details in design. This design evokes a nostalgic experience of the old Hanoi, allowing customers to immerse themselves in the realm of memories.

KenDesign successfully brought to life the simple and unadorned aspects of the past, blending the spatial qualities of an 'old-fashioned' Hanoi with a modern touch, all while preserving the intrinsic value of its traditional cultural heritage.

The Design Style of Ô Bun Cha Restaurant

Embracing a Vintage design style full of tradition, Ô Bun Cha captivates customers as soon as they step into the establishment with a unique blend that still carries the essence of Vietnam. The restaurant's logo serves as the initial striking point for customers visiting Ô Bun Chả; it is this focal point that has crafted the restaurant's brand. With meticulously crafted design inspired by the iconic One Pillar Pagoda in Hanoi and the distinctive image of a round platter of traditional bún chả.

From the exterior, customers will sense a familiar and truly simple ambiance. Drawing inspiration from the old Hanoi, the predominant color tone of the restaurant is a light, clean brown, reminiscent of the earthy tones of the mother nature. It is closely associated with the image of hardworking farmers in their traditional attire, symbolizing the origin of the nation's culinary excellence, particularly the renowned dish of bún chả.

The architects had to meticulously calculate every detail due to the relatively modest space, arranging the restaurant's areas in the most convenient way for operations. Our aim was to incorporate materials reminiscent of ancient culture, intricately depicted in each detail, crafting a space from which one can perceive the entire journey of bún chả throughout the long tradition of Hanoi's cultural heritage.

Customers can directly witness the restaurant's cooking process, bringing a sense of delight and reassurance. Additionally, the open space on the ground floor is arranged with convenient seating, making it easy for customers to enjoy their time at the restaurant.
