The investor, Mr. Hữu Tâm, dreamed of creating not just a place to eat, but a space where Vietnamese expatriates in Japan could reconnect with their roots. With a total area of 140m², Trống Đồng restaurant was born from the desire to encapsulate Vietnamese rural soul through space and experience. That goal guided KenDesign’s every decision throughout this traditional Vietnamese restaurant project
KenDesign approached the design concept by studying rural northern Vietnamese architecture, focusing on familiarity, symbolism, and cultural storytelling. Every element, from proportions to materials, was chosen not only for aesthetic appeal but also to create an emotional bridge to the homeland. Exterior – Rural Vietnamese Spirit in the Heart of Japan
