Advantages

The Jjajang restaurant is transformed from a former eatery situated on the bustling Duy Tan street, which sees a high volume of daily traffic with numerous vehicles passing by. Therefore, it can easily capture the attention of passersby. The surrounding area is a collection of various eateries, making it easier for the restaurant to stand out and be recognized.

Challenges

Innovating within the existing framework is also not an easy task, especially when the restaurant's layout needs to be retained. To leave an impression with this project, KenDesign's architects have put in their efforts to promise customers an engaging experience within the Korean Jjajang restaurant space.

Design Inspiration from Korean Fast Food Restaurant Style

Differing from other romantic and beautiful Korean spatial concepts, our architects have conceived an idea for an approachable and modern restaurant space, drawing inspiration from the fast food culture in Korea. Customers coming to the restaurant seek to enjoy quick and delicious meals at the most reasonable prices. Despite the multitude of styles available for fast food restaurant design, the most suitable and fitting style for the youthful customer demographic is undoubtedly the modern approach.

KenDesign's architects have designed the restaurant in a modern style, drawing inspiration from a youthful and dynamic Korea to make a lasting impression on customers. With a two-story layout including an impressive mezzanine level, the space offers a truly fantastic atmosphere.

Most customers don't have the time to admire or appreciate intricate restaurant designs. Hence, designs that follow classic, elegant, or traditional styles can be costly and inappropriate. Therefore, the idea of designing the Jjajang restaurant in a modern style fulfills both aesthetic demands and helps the investor save time and costs during construction.

Exterior Space with Allure

First impressions are always crucial in design, and we emphasize this from the exterior details. Replacing the previous appearance, the Jjajang restaurant's exterior features large glass doors with standout red frames as entrances. Passersby can easily glance into the interior space while walking by. The prominent signage stands out against a background of square panels, aiding quick brand recall for customers.

Modern and Youthful Interior Space

The interior design of a restaurant is a crucial phase in the construction and development of its value. The design of the Jjajang restaurant is characterized by dominant color palettes of red and yellow, creating a unique and impressive fast food restaurant style.

The prominent color schemes like orange, red, and yellow are not chosen randomly for the fast food restaurant's interior design. They stimulate the taste buds, capture visual attention, and bring about a youthful, dynamic, and distinctive ambiance that aligns perfectly with the nature of this type of eatery.

All the mentioned colors are warm tones, which is why our architects combined them to create a harmonious overall look, primarily focusing on using color coordination to enhance the restaurant's appeal. This is especially effective if your target customer base consists of young individuals who often enjoy social media check-ins and a vibrant lifestyle. A modern and brightly colored restaurant space with a trendy aesthetic will undoubtedly capture their excitement and attention.

The restaurant space is divided into two levels, with the first floor being spacious and encompassing the food preparation and ordering counters, along with an elevated mezzanine level above. The mezzanine level has been completely reconfigured, removing the previously enclosed glass partitions and replacing them with a continuous railing linked to the staircase leading up. This design approach enhances the restaurant's comfort by creating a more open connection between the upper and lower spaces, thereby increasing the sense of spaciousness as customers enter the establishment.

The interior space of the Jjajang restaurant places significant emphasis on achieving a balanced layout between the counter area and the customer seating area. This creates a comfortable space for customers to enjoy their meals, avoiding a cramped and uncomfortable atmosphere upon their visit. The food preparation area is designed to be enclosed, ensuring that it functions effectively without impacting customers due to the relatively small space. With the goal of establishing a unique and impressive dining atmosphere, it's essential to generate a sense of comfort.

Utilizing Raw and Natural Interior Elements

When designing restaurant interiors, especially for fast food establishments, it's crucial to strike a balance between functionality and aesthetics. This balance ensures a positive impression for diners. Notably, restaurant furniture, including tables and chairs, plays a significant role in building functional and aesthetic value, contributing to customer satisfaction. The design of this restaurant incorporates a modern design style, blending raw simplicity with functionality, a characteristic of Korean interior design. As such, the Jjajang restaurant space utilizes rustic and industrial materials, fostering a sense of openness, especially in the design of the seating area.

The dining tables are designed using shiny wooden materials, all arranged neatly in a row, forming a well-organized arrangement. With this design, diners can enjoy their meals, engage in conversations with friends, and appreciate the beauty of the street simultaneously.

We favor the use of materials like tiled cladding and metal for the ceiling and flooring design. Particularly, we show a preference for wood, iron, and steel materials in the design of the furniture, which is deliberately kept simple to truly embody the essence of the style. Additionally, the furniture in the restaurant includes square and rectangular wooden tabletops paired with steel-legged chairs with electrostatic painting. This demonstrates how the interior design of the restaurant incorporates a sense of natural refinement, interspersed with the robust elements of industrial style, while also efficiently minimizing costs for the investor.

Due to the simplicity-focused style, aiming for practicality and embracing the beauty of raw authenticity, the Jjajang restaurant has successfully achieved this goal. Notably, these details don't exhibit intricate refinement but rather emphasize rough surfaces and sharp edges, contributing to a distinctive personality and the restaurant's unique sense of strength, all aligned with the original essence.

Unique Decorations

Designing a fast food restaurant requires focal points to attract customers and leave a strong impression. The colors of Korean dishes are leveraged for decoration, extending to the menu design to provide convenient options for customers. Accent walls are adorned with decorative patterns and unique artworks. Allowing customers to unleash their imagination enhances the dining experience, making the meals even more enjoyable.
