Design Concept of Millen Bay
The client approached us with a desire to create a unique restaurant and cafe business complex. The investor aimed to establish a "beer valley" and various coffee areas, office dining spaces, where customers could be served not only delicious drinks and food but also experience more. Furthermore, Millen Bay was anticipated to become an attractive check-in destination. The target audience for Millen Bay is quite diverse, including young adults and office workers. Hence, the design needed to be truly impressive, balancing modern and youthful elements without compromising on luxury and sophistication.
Advantages and Challenges in the Design Process
Through analyzing and understanding the current layout, we've been able to identify both the advantages and challenges in designing Millen Bay. This comprehensive view has enabled our design team to create the most complete and satisfying design proposal, taking into account all aspects of the project.
Advantages
Millen Bay enjoys a highly advantageous and prime location, situated directly across from the Hà Đông Post Office and along the main traffic axis of Hà Đông district. The project is located in the basement of the Thiên Niên Kỷ Tower. This not only facilitates convenient transportation but also has the potential to attract a significant number of customers and easily reach them through various advertising means.
The current state of the Millen Bay premises is relatively new, which will be advantageous for both the design and construction processes. Additionally, the indoor and outdoor spaces are distinctly separated. This clear demarcation makes it much more convenient and straightforward for the architects to arrange functions in a scientific and rational manner.
Challenges
Alongside the advantages, designing a multi-purpose restaurant and cafe business complex does come with its share of challenges. As this is a combination of dining services including beer, cafe, and fast food, allocating functions to ensure ease of operation while maintaining a cohesive connection between the different models poses a significant challenge for the design team. Additionally, the design of Millen Bay must adhere to stringent requirements regarding fire safety, ventilation systems, and water supply and drainage for the kitchen area. Despite these challenges, they serve as motivation for the Ken Design team to complete the project in a meticulous and perfect manner.
Main Design Style
Defining the design style is incredibly important, especially for a restaurant and cafe business complex like Millen Bay. It showcases consistency, coherence, aesthetic value, and the owner's vision. We have opted for a modern style for the café area and an industrial style for the beer restaurant. The combination of the bold, minimalistic elements of the modern style and the free-spirited, raw characteristics of the industrial style will create a harmonious, elegant, and impressive overall ambiance.

Beer Restaurant Area
Within the Millen Bay restaurant and cafe complex, the beer restaurant will shine with its bold, industrial, and innovative design. The beer restaurant primarily caters to groups of customers, mainly men. Thus, the strong and distinctive industrial style will elevate the space to a more upscale and unique level. Additionally, the restaurant integrates a fast food area for office workers. The industrial style provides a comfortable atmosphere, maximizes space utilization, and accommodates a larger number of diners.
The Millen Bay beer restaurant boasts a diverse and sophisticated structure, showcasing complexity and intricacy in its design. Every detail carries the hallmark of robust and distinctive lines. The Millen Bay restaurant and cafe complex showcases harmony in connecting spaces and asserts brand consistency. The E - Coffee area reflects a modern style yet exudes a sense of intimacy. Displaying a combination of angular shapes and gentle curves, the cafe space achieves both elegance and sophistication, all while maintaining a natural and lively ambiance.
The highlight of the E - Coffee space within the restaurant and cafe complex lies in the twisted pendant light fixtures that mimic coffee beans. These lights are positioned right at the center of the area, delicately suspended to enhance aesthetic appeal. The lighting within the space becomes cozy, spreading evenly without causing discomfort from excessive brightness. This area is perfectly suited for customers seeking conversations and relaxation after long, tiring days.
